Why would you ever need an A-Z of exercises? Well why the eff not, really. The greatest use of a dictionary list like this is to create novelty workouts made up of movements starting with certain letters, commonplace for gyms and coaches especially around holidays or birthdays. For example, if it was Andy’s birthday, you could construct a workout that corresponds to the letters A-N-D-Y like the below:
6 ROUNDS
Air Squat x 10
Narrow Grip Pull Down x 10
Deadlift x 10
Y Raise x 10
The more creative you get with your sessions, the better; spelling out SANTA for Christmas, CHOCOLATE for Easter, or SCREW THIS for lockdown… the only limits are your imagination. Whilst definitely too haphazard a method for a regular training program, injecting a novelty workout serves a purpose, breaking up the monotony of every day training or providing motivation on the days when it is so sorely lacking… and it can happen a lot.
