To say Lewis Hamilton has had quite a 2020 is an understatement almost equally as large as his year. After a sensational year on the track, and despite a surprise 3rd placing in Sochi, Hamilton is only one win away from equalling legendary Michael Schumacher’s 91 victories and securing his 7th Formula One Championship in the process. The racing icon is also a recent inclusion on this year’s Time’s 100 most influential people list, an extremely worthy inclusion given his career accomplishments, and buoyed by his dedication to the Black Lives Matter movement and effective use of his platform to share messages of inspiration and hope, particularly this year.
Adding to his already packed schedule of Formula One domination and activism, Hamilton has also used his time and skill wisely this year, once again lending his hand to fashion, incorporating his passion for inclusivity and sustainability into his latest collaboration with fashion powerhouse Tommy Hilfiger.
The TommyXLewis collection is inspired by causes and values close to Hamilton’s heart, and those he’s not shy to share, having reinvented iconic pieces in more sustainable materials, ‘Style for All’ silhouettes and emblazoning them with new uplifting messages.
“Evolving as a designer and collaborator through the TommyXLewis collections has been such an incredible journey,” said Hamilton last week on the release of the collection. “Over the last five seasons, I have loved working with Tommy to push boundaries, take creative risks and capture my personal sense of style in our designs.”
The “CREATE UNITY” messaging featured across various styles was chosen by Hamilton and Hilfiger to inspire fans to unite for the causes they believe in, and share this message of peace with the world “from authentic self-expression to inclusivity and sustainability. We could not be prouder of what we have created together.”
