Summer is a harsh beast; on the environment, on your bank balance and on your skin. However while we’re still trying to figure out solutions to the former, we can offer you some tips from the experts at Tony & Munro to get on top of your skincare regime.
Skincare rookie? Don’t worry, so were we. This is a judgement-free zone.
What is the holy grail of skincare tips?
Keep it simple.
Hydrate, protect and keep it clean. Protecting your skin against the sun’s harmful UVA & UVB rays is super important to keep your skin healthy and reduce the visible signs of ageing.
The other important thing to do is… wash your face. Guys have larger pores so going to bed at night without wiping away the dirt and grime from the day can cause and exacerbate all kinds of skin issues.
Lastly get some sleep! This is key to reducing those tired puppy eyes, dark circles and marshmallow puffs! At least seven to eight hours a night (if you can). Your body does its best work when you’re sleeping… including cell regeneration and skin repair, so give your skin a fighting chance and you’ll wake up feeling and looking refreshed.
If there is one thing you should do every day, this is it (and make sure it includes an SPF). Moisturising promotes the production of collagen, giving your skin more body and plumpness, encourages elasticity, reducing the signs of ageing and restores your skins natural sebum (oil) layer, trapping in moisture and protecting your skin. All of which promote healthy skin cell production and regeneration.
How important is SPF?
We can’t stress enough the importance of adding an SPF into your daily routine!
SPF is by default an anti-ageing product, as exposure to the sun can cause your skin to age prematurely, leaving you with damaged, wrinkled and tough skin. Not mention the dangers of skin cancer. All you need is a light SPF to get you through the day.
